The London Careers Hubs have announced ‘Next Steps in London’ at Skills London, the UKs Largest careers and jobs fair!
The Central London Careers Hub were in attendance once again at the largest careers event in the country last weekend, as Skills London returned to the Excel Centre in East London. Representatives from the Hub were on hand to support attendees with advice on their next steps as they unveiled the new “Next Steps in London” training and qualifications guide. The booklet, co-produced with CareerMap and in partnership with the other London Careers Hubs, aims to support students to navigate their future study choices with confidence.
With over 100 potential employers and thousands of students, parents, and educators in attendance; Skills London once again lived up to the billing as the largest jobs and careers event in the UK. Offering thousands of live jobs, training, and apprenticeship opportunities under one roof; Skills London is an annual event supporting thousands of young Londoners to navigate the complex landscape of post-16 education and training options.
Speaking of the new ‘Next Steps in London’ resource developed and distributed at the event, and now made available online, Michelle Sporle, Strategic Hub Lead at the Central London Careers Hub, said,
I’m so pleased to be able to announce this innovative new resource for students and parents. The education and training landscape can be a tricky one to navigate and we recognise that there a lot of options out there for students. I’m proud to have worked in partnership with our fellow Careers Hubs to produce a resource aimed at demystifying routes into meaningful employment, a key part of our shared mission to support every young Londoner to find their best next step.
Enterprise Coordinator for Tower Hamlets and Kensington & Chelsea, Jamie Fox, who was in attendance said,
It was wonderful to see all our London Career Hubs working together with our partners to support next steps for all our young people. Skills London was buzzing with engaged parents and students having meaningful conversations with partner organisations and considering a range of options and careers.
