The Autism Reality Experience project

The Central London Careers Hub are thrilled to share their featured spread in ‘Career mag for Inclusion’ (page 12-13) on the Autism Reality Experience Project.
The Central London Careers Hub funded 10 schools across London to participate in the Autism Reality Project which is an immersive virtual reality experience that gave participants a greater insight into autism to help see the world from an autistic person’s perspective, specifically in a classroom setting.
This project had a significant impact on the educators who attended who fed back on feeling empowered to implement more inclusive alterations and changes to their classroom environment. Schools who participated were championing autism awareness and actively supporting their Gatsby Benchmark 3: Addressing the needs of each student. The wider impact of this project will be for the students benefiting from greater teacher understanding of how best to support.
At the Central London Careers Hub we are passionate about amplifying an inclusive and quality careers provision for all. To learn more about the need for educators to have autism awareness training for an inclusive careers curriculum please see the Buckland Review.
