World Health Day

07 Apr 2022

Today we celebrated World Health Day!

Did you know the NHS is Britain’s single biggest employer and has 350 types of role?

I want to highlight and recognise a recent Careers Activity which promoted health careers to young people so they can make informed choices about their next steps. Volunteer and Occupational Therapist, Parkavi Thiruvengadam, gave a breakfast careers talk to 120 students aged 16-18 from Cardinal Pole Catholic School in the London Borough of Hackney.

Thanks to all involved including: Jonathan Howard, Careers Lead at Cardinal Pole Catholic School Julia Prudhoe, Programme Manager - Development & Education at Care City on behalf of the North East London Health & Care Partnership Karen Pollard, Enterprise Coordinator in the Central London Careers Hub

We are always keen to link volunteers from different sectors to the schools and colleges in our London network. If you are interested in broadening young people's career aspirations, get in touch with [email protected]
